Showdown looms at Longchamp

Alan Shuback|May 19, 2004

The long-awaited return of France's top two fillies may happen in Sunday's Prix d'Ispahan at Longchamp, where Six Perfections and Nebraska Tornado could hook up in the Group 1 race for older horses.

Six Perfections, winner of the Breeders' Cup mile last year, will line up for the 1 1/8-mile, 55-yard Ispahan, in what will be his first start beyond a mile, trainer Pascal Bary said. Nebraska Tornado has not been declared a definite starter, but as a top-class miler who won the Prix du Moulin de Longchamp, she should be ideally suited to the Ispahan's distance. She has also won the French Oaks at 1 5/16 miles.
