Show It N Moe It facing small field in Spring Fever

If you liked the 6 1/2-furlong allowance race that Show It N Moe It won on Jan. 10 at Santa Anita, you’ll love the $100,000 Spring Fever on Sunday because it’s a rematch of the top four finishers in the race.
“Plus my maiden, to make the race go,” trainer Gary Sherlock said.
Sherlock trains the likely favorite, Show It N Moe It, who romped to a 3 1/4-length victory over S Y Sky on Jan. 10, with Coco Kisses and Barbara Beatrice following. Those four are back for the six-furlong Spring Fever, but because none of the other nine older females nominated for the California-bred race was going to be entered, Sherlock tossed in the 0-for-14 maiden Into Rissa to make sure he had action Sunday.
“I’m going to go ahead and run her,” Sherlock said Friday morning. “If two run bad, maybe she can be third.”
Terry Lovingier bred and co-owns Show It N Moe It and Into Rissa; he also bred Coco Kisses, whom he sold at auction as a yearling for $90,000. Show It N Moe It has been a stalwart for Lovingier and Sherlock, with five wins in 18 starts, but she has been particularly effective at Santa Anita, where she is 4 for 10. Sherlock thinks one other got away; Show It N Moe It was second to Spiced Perfection last April in the Evening Jewel, losing by a neck.
“She should have won that day,” he said.

That race, in fact, began a seven-race losing streak for Show It N Moe It, who placed in three stakes, including the Grade 3 L.A. Woman, but could not get back to the winner’s circle until she returned to her ideal scenario, a race at Santa Anita against statebreds.
“She’s just a nice, nice filly who fires every time,” Sherlock said.
The Spring Fever goes as race 8 on a nine-race card that begins at 1 p.m. Pacific.
