Shotgun Kowboy getting ready for Remington

Shotgun Kowboy is gearing up for the Remington Park meet, which opens Aug. 23 in Oklahoma City. Shotgun Kowboy is back at Lone Star Park near Dallas after a brief freshening following his fifth-place finish in the Grade 3, $300,000 Steve Sexton Mile on April 28 at Lone Star.
Shotgun Kowboy spent some time off at the Oklahoma farm of his breeder, owner, and trainer, C.R. Trout.
“He’s back galloping right now,” Trout said. “He’ll be ready to go for Remington.”
Trout said Shotgun Kowboy is a candidate for the $175,000 Governor’s Cup, a 1 1/8-mile race Aug. 23 at Remington. The other major Remington objective for the horse is the $175,000 Oklahoma Classics Cup at 1 1/16 miles on Oct. 18. Shotgun Kowboy, who is 7, is a three-time winner of the Classics Cup.
Shotgun Kowboy is a multiple Grade 3 winner of $1.4 million.
