Short field for wide-open Jim Rasmussen Memorial

There are just six entrants in the $65,000 Jim Rasmussen Memorial, the Memorial Day feature at Prairie Meadows, but it’s no exaggeration to say that any of them can win.
The outsider on the track’s morning line is All About Ashley, listed at a mere 6-1 after consecutive wins.
The 6-year-old Iowa-bred Net Gain is the narrow choice to prevail in the 1 1/16-mile Rasmussen. Net Gain has a 4-4-2 record from 12 Prairie Meadows starts and should be set to improve coming off a Churchill Downs turf allowance race. His stalking style appears to fit the likely race dynamics in the Rasmussen, which includes four horses who prefer to race on or near the lead.
Powerful Ally could be part of the pace but also has run effectively from a pressing and stalking spot, and he has made nice strides this spring for trainer Ron Moquett, who sends his charge into stakes competition for the first time.
The rail-drawn Chief Know It All flopped last out in the Fifth Season Stakes at Oaklawn, but a return to the form that got him a second-place finish behind the talented Cedartown last winter in the Zia Park Derby would make Chief Know It All formidable.
