Shilla takes Fanfreluche

Shilla ($6.90) drew clear from pacemaker Kid Sparkle at the sixteenth pole en route to a handy score in Saturday's $150,400 Fanfreluche Stakes, a six-furlong dash for Ontario-bred 2-year-old fillies at Woodbine.

Shilla, trained by Nick Gomez, rallied inside on the turn, and came outside Kid Sparkle in the stretch to prevail by 2 1/2 lengths in a time of 1:09.62. Kid Sparkle was a length ahead of the third-place finisher, favored Dawn Raid.

* Eccentric ($4.40), also ridden by Clark, closed along the rail on the far turn, and won the 1 1/4-mile, $100,400 Chief Bearhart by a neck over Royal Challenger. The final time was 2:06.37 over a course labeled yielding. Eccentric, trained by Roger Attfield for owner Gary Tanaka, banked $60,000.

* Like a Gem ($11.80) won Saturday's other stakes, the $104,400 River Memories, a one-mile grass event for fillies and mares.
