She'sonthewarpath scores first stakes win in Ta Wee

She’sonthewarpath won her first stakes race as jockey Chantal Sutherland won with her first starter at Indiana Grand when horse and rider delivered supremely professional performances in the $100,000 Ta Wee Stakes.
Sutherland gently rated She’sonthewarpath several lengths off Be Nimble’s half-mile split of 49.94 seconds, sat chilly on the fence until upper stretch, then nimbly wheeled her athletic filly outside three horses for a final assault that captured the flag.
She’sonthewarpath won by three-quarters of a length over Aunt Hattie, though She’sonthewarpath’s superiority exceeded the bare margin of victory.
“She broke really well and the speed went, and she settled in nicely, which was good, because with her, she’s been really tough,” said Sutherland. “She’s put a lot of weight on going into this race. I felt pretty confident in the post parade seeing how good her coat looked.”

Steve Margolis trains She’sonthewarpath for breeders Robert and Lawana Low and the 3-year-old filly now is 3 for 3 on grass having captured a turf-sprint maiden race at Fair Grounds and a first-level allowance route over older horses at Churchill leading into the Ta Wee.
“This filly has really improved and we’re so happy for her,” said Margolis. “It was a little bit of a question mark if she could run long, but she trains so good and she’s just a class act.”
Aunt Hattie got somewhat rank on the backstretch and because of it had to make an early move, but she sustained it admirably to hold second by about 1 1/2 lengths over Be Nimble. Winning time for the one mile on a turf course upgraded from good to firm during the card was 1:37.62.
