She'sonthewarpath gives Sutherland an easier trip to winner's circle

Chantal Sutherland had it all planned. Ride a first-time-starting maiden she liked in the fifth race at Keeneland, hop a small plane at the airport across the street from the track, fly to Indianapolis and drive on to Indiana Grand to ride She’sonthewarpath in the $75,000 Indiana General Assembly Distaff.
The maiden finished eighth, the pilot of Sutherland’s plane got nervous about lightning in the area and declined to fly, and Sutherland wound up driving like mad from Lexington to Shelbyville, Ind.
That part of the trip was difficult, but the ride on She’sonthewarpath went much smoother as the filly posted a three-quarter-length win as the odds-on favorite at Indiana Grand.
Sutherland had tough luck getting to the race, but She’sonthewarpath had the good fortune of moving from post 12 into post 7 after five horses drawn inside her were scratched. She tracked the pace from third, came three wide at the quarter pole, and held off a late rally from No Mo Lady to post a popular victory.
“I tapped her on the shoulder, and she’s just push-button,” Sutherland said.

No Mo Lady finished a half-length in front of Complicit as the winner clocked 1:42.02 for 1 1/16 miles on firm turf. She’sonthewarpath ($3.60) is by Delcaration of War out of Ha Ha Tonka, by Distorted Humor.
Steve Margolis trains the 4-year-old filly for Robert and Lawana Low, and She’sonthewarpath, who won the $100,000 Ta Wee Stakes last summer at Indiana Grand, has turned into a very useful racehorse. She won a pair of $100,000 Fair Grounds turf stakes over the winter and came into Wednesday’s start off a good fourth in the Grade 3 Mint Julep Stakes.
The Black Album tops charts in Schuster
The Black Album won 3 of 4 races during his 2-year-old season in France, but visited the winner’s circle for just the second time in nine North American starts when he captured the $75,000 Jonathan Schuster Memorial Stakes on the Indiana Derby undercard.
The Black Album got a great trip under Luis Saez, pressing Argentello’s soft pace to the eighth pole, where he took over and went on to a 1 1/2-length win.
Hay Dakota, the 2-1 favorite, won a three-horse place photo, getting up by a nose over Argentello, with Grand Journey fourth. The Black Album paid $10.40 to win and ran 1 1/16 miles on firm turf in 1:41.68.
Rodolphe Brisset trains The Black Album for Team Valor International and Gary Barber. The 4-year-old, by Wootton Bassett out of Model Black, by Trade Fair, finished eighth in the 2018 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf after being imported, and a nose victory in the Charlie Barley Stakes at Woodbine was his only tally among seven 2019 starts.
* Two Last Words ($4) got up by a head over Mai Tai’s Gem to win the $79,400 open division of the Hoosier Breeders’ Sophomore Stakes for Indiana-bred 3-year-olds. Tim Glyshaw trains the winner, a son of Commissioner, for owner Deann Baer. Copper Nickel, a 1-9 shot, easily won the $78,500 fillies division for jockey Luis Saez, trainer Mike Lauer, and owners Frank Brown, Mike South, and Doris Book.
