Shesanaturalblonde enters allowance off her best effort

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Shesanaturalblonde can handle either Woodbine surface, which might be to her benefit in Friday’s allowance headliner, scheduled for a mile on the grass. With all the rain in the forecast for this week, however, it seems probable that the race will be moved to the Polytrack and lengthened to 1 1/16 miles.
Shesanaturalblonde has come a long way since graduating with just a 48 Beyer Speed Figure in her season opener in April. After a slump, she won an Ontario-sired allowance convincingly on the grass in July before trailing in 10th in the $250,800 Wonder Where Stakes.
Shesanaturalblonde finished in a dead heat for fourth at 65-1 on Sept. 20 in the open La Lorgnette Stakes. Most recently, in another Polytrack route, she rallied five wide to beat non-winners-of-three Ontario-sired allowance stock with a career-high 78 Beyer.
Jeffrey Alderson retains the mount on the 3-year-old daughter of Canadian Triple Crown winner Wando for trainer Bill Tharrenos.
KEY CONTENDERS
Shesanaturalblonde (Last 3 Beyers: 78-71-68)
◗ She has been saddled with post 14. The portable rail will be in lane 1 if the proceedings remain on the grass, and the inside lanes should offer the best footing. Expect some scratches if the race comes off, which would move her inward.
Trigger Finger (Last 3 Beyers: 73-65-53)
◗ She inherited the lead two back before weakening to fourth when favored in a Polytrack route. Last time out on the grass in another allowance, she rallied from 12th to finish a clear second behind the favored Danish Princess.
◗ Emma-Jayne Wilson, who was aboard for her last win, has the mount on the 3-year-old for trainer Tino Attard.
Pretty Two Faced (Last 3 Beyers: 66-65-69)
◗ The steady 5-year-old is also versatile in terms of surface and is coming off a wide fourth behind Danish Princess and Trigger Finger. She has run four decent races since being claimed by trainer Cary Brooks for $30,000 on July 26.
Leading Edge (Last 3 Beyers: 70-78-77)
◗ The regally bred Tapit filly has been idle since finishing ninth June 14 in the Woodbine Oaks. She was previously a prominent third in the Grade 3 Selene Stakes. Her flat season opener on soft ground at Keeneland probably isn’t a true indication of her ability on turf.
Simplyirresistible (Last 3 Beyers: 75-75-74)
◗ She captured two of her last three excursions on the grass, against Ontario-sired maidens and non-winners-of-two allowance types. She is winless in nine tries on the Polytrack.
