DEL MAR, Calif. - She’s Quality, who was pulled up in the opening furlong of Saturday’s $1 million Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint at Del Mar, was euthanized on Sunday morning at a Southern California veterinary clinic because of complications from a pelvis injury. She’s Quality’s death was reported on social media by trainer Jack Davison. The message, in part, said, “I am devastated to report that our stable star She’s Quality has passed away, having suffered a pelvic fracture during the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint.” The statement said that She’s Quality was transported from the Del Mar backstretch to the nearby San Luis Rey equine hospital on Saturday, and that her condition worsened on Sunday morning. “She received the best possible care and appeared to be stable in the initial hours after” the injury, the statement said. “However, her condition declined overnight, and the difficult decision was made to (euthanize) her. “We are utterly devastated at her passing.” She’s Quality, a 4-year-old Irish-bred filly by Acclamation, won 4 of 24 starts in a career that began in June 2023. A minor stakes winner in Ireland in 2024, She’s Quality was winless in eight starts this year, all at five furlongs on turf, including a second in the Group 2 King George Stakes at Goodwood Racecourse in Britain in August, and a third in the Group 1 Prix de l’Abbaye at Longchamp in Paris on Oct. 5.
