Shes Our Fastest following familiar formula in Orleans Stakes

Shes Our Fastest will cut back to the one-turn configuration of her last three wins Friday night in the $65,000 Orleans at Delta Downs. The five-furlong race for fillies and mares drew a field of nine, including the up-and-coming A Thousand Reasons.
She’s Our Fastest won two sprint stakes and an allowance last year, with the three wins coming on the cutback from two-turn races. She’s Our Fastest last raced Nov. 15, finishing second to Mariah’s Galaxy in the $100,000 Treasure Chest at a mile at Delta Downs.
“I thought she ran a bang-up race,” said Scott Gelner, who trains Shes Our Fastest. “The other horse just beat her, and that was her third win at Delta, all in stakes company. We just got beat by a horse that runs the course good.”
Shes Our Fastest will break from post 2 under Tommy Pompell on Friday.
“She’s always done well cutting back,” Gelner said. “She’ll probably sit right off the lead. There’s some speed in there.”
Shes Our Fastest races for Mark Norman and Norman Racing Stables.
A Thousand Reasons has won 3 of 5 starts, her latest an optional-claiming sprint Dec. 13 at Delta.
