She’s a Julie darted home by 1 1/2 lengths over Remedy in the Grade 3, $200,000 Remington Park Oaks and was one of five stakes winners on Sunday’s card for the trainer-jockey team of Steve Asmussen and Ricardo Santana Jr.

It was another nose back to Cosmic Burst in third.

The Remington Park Oaks was one of 10 stakes on a program anchored by the Grade 3, $400,000 Oklahoma Derby won by Lone Sailor ($8.80). Asmussen and Santana also won the $175,000 Governor’s Cup with Hence, the $75,000 Kip Deville with B.B. Dude, the $50,000 E.L. Gaylord Memorial with Adventurous Lady and the $75,000 Ran Ricks Memorial with Adore.

Last year on the same card, the men teamed to win four stakes races.

"Steve does an amazing job with the horses," Santana told publicity at Remington. "I'm really blessed to be part of his team."

She’s a Julie ($3.80) was the 4-5 favorite in the Remington Park Oaks off a runner-up finish in the Grade 1 Alabama at Saratoga. She showed good speed turning back from 1 1/4 miles to 1 1/16 miles Sunday, racing just off leader Remedy through fractions of 23.57 seconds for the opening quarter and 47.59 for the half-mile. She’s a Julie moved to the fore after six furlongs in 1:11.47 and went on to cover the distance on a track rated fast in 1:43.36.

“That’s a real special filly for Mr. Steve,” Santana told publicity. “She always tries hard. I have a lot of confidence in that filly and today she proved she’s amazing.

“Every time she felt the company, she kept going. One of the things about her, she always leaves everything on the track.”

She’s a Julie races for the partnership of Whispering Oaks Farm, Team Hanley, Bradley Thoroughbreds, and Madaket Stables. She took the second stakes race of her career, behind the Grade 3 Iowa Oaks.

She’s a Julie has now won 4 of 10 starts, and the first-place check of $120,000 on Sunday pushed her earnings to $450,530. She is a daughter of Elusive Quality.

Adore ($6.40) dominated while winning her fourth straight race in the Ricks Memorial, covering the 1 1/16 miles on firm turf in 1:42. It was the seventh win in the Ricks for Asmussen, according to Remington announcer Dale Day. Hachi was second and Girl Power third. Adore is a daughter of Big Brown who races for Winchell Thoroughbreds.
