She’s Explosive unproven at La Prevoyante distance

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – The aptly named She’s Explosive will move out to a mile on grass Saturday at Woodbine in the $125,000 La Prevoyante Stakes.
She’s Explosive possesses La Prevoyante-like speed, which she used to capture her two May races, both in Ontario-sired company on Polytrack. She beat open company in her last two outings going six furlongs on turf. She made her way to the lead on the turn before drawing off in a first-level allowance Aug. 7 and then wired the field in a second-level optional claimer just two weeks later.
Trainer Sid Attard said the distance is a question mark for She’s Explosive, a daughter of speed sire Old Forester.
“I don’t know if she’ll go a mile, but we have to give her a shot, the way she’s running on the grass.” Attard said. “Sometimes they go to the lead nice and easy and they keep going. She’s 100 percent better on the grass.”
Attard raved about She’s Explosive’s five-furlong bullet breeze on dirt last Saturday.

“She worked in 59 flat,” Attard said. “The training track was fast, but she worked really good. She’s a very good-working filly.”
Seven other Ontario-sired 3-year-old fillies were entered in the La Prevoyante, a race named for the champion 2-year-old filly in North America in 1972.
