The dispersal of Dr. Robert Zoellner’s Rockin’ Z Ranch at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky winter mixed sale Monday and Tuesday spread the Oklahoma-based operation’s assets to a diverse group of buyers.

A total of 23 horses were offered in the dispersal, and 22 changed hands for $527,100, an average of $23,959. Vinery Sales handled the dispersal as agent.

“It was overall pretty good,” said Derek MacKenzie of Vinery Sales. “We had a lot of Oklahoma interests, and it actually brought a lot of interest from a lot of people. They’ve been racing, they’ve never done the commercial thing, and they’ve just produced nice racehorses, so it’s been great. Viewings were strong.”

The dispersal was led by She’s All In, a Grade 3-winning Include mare who sold to Ran Leonard’s RML as agent for an undisclosed client for $325,000. The 10-year-old mare was offered in foal to former Rockin’ Z stallion Magna Graduate. Her first foal, a yearling Temple City filly named Pocket Aces, also sold to Leonard as agent for a different client.

"I'm from Oklahoma and a longtime friend of Dr. Zoellner, so obviously I've been a fan of this mare ever since he had her,” Leonard said. “I own a mare named Tiz Miz Sue, and her and She's All In ran against each other all the time. We would have dinner bets over who finished in front.”

Peach Brew, a Grade 3 stakes-winning half-sister to She’s All In by Milwaukee Brew, was the dispersal’s second-leading horse, selling privately to Doug Arnold of Kentucky-based Buck Pond Farm for $41,000. The mare sold in foal to Temple City.

Pocket Aces was the top yearling of the dispersal at $20,000.

Notional, a stallion who had stood at Rockin’ Z Ranch since 2015, sold to an Indiana-based partnership for $8,000 and will continue his breeding career in that state.
