She Takes Heart needs rain to run

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – She Takes Heart, hopelessly overmatched against Abel Tasman and Elate in the Grade 1 Personal Ensign last month at Saratoga, is back home and in the entries here at Gulfstream on Sunday.
But she’ll need some help from Mother Nature to run, since she’s entered as one of the three main-track-only horses in the $48,000 eighth race, an optional claimer for fillies and mares at 7 1/2 furlongs on the turf.
If she runs, She Takes Heart will be returning to the allowance ranks for the first time since she was claimed for $62,500 during the spring. She Takes Heart finished second in an overnight stakes here going seven furlongs prior to her fruitless trip to New York for the Personal Ensign.
Should the feature go as scheduled on grass, the race looms wide open, with Vendita perhaps the favorite off her victory against lesser opposition five weeks ago, and Evita Capitana as an unknown factor in her U.S. debut for trainer Armando De La Cerda. Evita Capitana has made all 10 of her starts in her native Argentina.
◗ Trainer Antonio Sano said Gunnevera would have three works prior to the Breeders’ Cup Classic on Nov. 3 at Churchill Downs, with the first coming in two weeks over his home base at Gulfstream Park West. Gunnevera is coming off a second-place finish in the Grade 1 Woodward at Saratoga.
