Sharp Sensation sets track record in Boyes Memorial

Coady Photography Sharp Sensation and jockey Jesse Campbell win the Karl Boyes Memorial by two lengths Monday.
Sharp Sensation sat just off the early blazing fractions and went on to set a 5 1/2-furlong track record at Presque Isle Downs on Monday evening in winning the $100,000 Karl Boyes Memorial.
Dazzled Saint, trained by John Bourke, set early fractions of 22.16 and 45.74 seconds while off the rail. Sum of the Parts, trained by Tom Amoss, was just off the pace and was sent to the lead in upper stretch and drew clear. Sharp Sensation went by in the stretch late and won by two lengths. Sum of the Parts was second, three lengths in front of Triple Cross in third.
The running time was 1.02.10, and Sharp Sensation returned $6.20 to win.
