Shared Account delivers first foal, a Bernardini colt

Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf winner Shared Account has delivered her first foal, a Bernardini colt born March 18 at Sagamore Farm in Reisterstown, Md.

Shared Account won the Grade 2 Lake Placid Stakes and finished second in a pair of Grade 1 events, the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes and the Garden City Stakes, as a sophomore in 2009.

The following season, the daughter of Pleasantly Perfect captured the Grade 3 All Along Stakes and finished second by a head to Proviso in the Grade 1 Diana Stakes. She arrived at the 2010 Breeders' Cup at Churchill Downs as a 46-to-1 longshot but prevailed, outdueling defending champion Midday to win the Filly and Mare Turf by a neck.

Shared Account retired with six wins from 18 starts over four seasons of racing and earned $1,649,427.

Out of the winning Smart Strike mare Silk n' Sapphire, Shared Account is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Colonial Flag and Grade 3-placed Mark of Success. Silk n' Sapphire is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner and producer Sapphire n' Silk and to Grade 3 winner Golden Itiz.
