Shakenwithanolive held on to win by a desperate nose over Alywyn in the $50,000 Madamoiselle Handicap for fillies and mares at Northlands Park on Sunday. Breaking alertly under Jorge Carreno in the 1 1/16-mile feature, Shakenwithanolive carved out fractions of 23.60 seconds, 47.60, and held a 2 ½-length advantage over Alywyn after six furlongs in 1:13.20. Her lead had diminished to one length at the top of the stretch and Shakenwithanolive held on to win by the smallest of margins. Finishing third, 7 ½ lengths back, was Miss Victoriana. The final time was 1:46. Shakenwithanolive ($3.80) inherited the role of favorite when Holy Nova was scratched after she dropped her rider, Mario Gutierrez, and then ran off just a few minutes before the start of the race. Trained by Robertino Diodoro, Shakenwithanolive earned $30,000 for her owner Rick Wiest.
