Several options possible for Mind Your Biscuits's 2018 debut
RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLE
HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Mind Your Biscuits gave every indication he’s close to his 2018 debut after working five furlongs in 1:00 before galloping out six furlongs in 1:12.40 with Irad Ortiz Jr. aboard Friday at Palm Meadows.
“He went out seven furlongs in 1:14.80 and a mile in 1:37 according to the track clocker,” trainer Chad Summers said a short while later.
Asked what Ortiz told him after the breeze, Summers simply said, “He’s ready.”
Summers is contemplating two stakes for Mind Your Biscuits’s return, including the General George at Laurel on Feb. 17 and the Gulfstream Park Turf Sprint here on March 3.
“We’re looking at some other options as well,” Summers said. “The drawbacks to those two races are the long van ride to Maryland for the General George and the long wait for the Gulfstream Park Sprint. I’ll probably have a better answer to the question by Sunday.”
