The $8,600 purse of a $4,000 claiming race at Los Alamitos in September has been ordered redistributed by Santa Anita stewards after race winner Crazy About You was disqualified for a positive test, according to a ruling published by Santa Anita stewards on Feb. 7. Crazy About You tested positive for the banned analgesic tramadol, according to the Horseracing Integrity and Welfare Unit website. Crazy About You won by a neck as the 11-10 favorite and earned $4,850 of the purse. In the rulings, the stewards ordered owner Mike Flory, trainer Jesus Nunez, and jockey Francisco Monroy to forfeit their portions of the purse. The revised order of finish for first through fourth in the field of five is Al B Raecin, Dallas Alice, Getaway Charm, and Chollima. Crazy About You was demoted to fifth and will not receive any prize money. Nunez was fined $1,000 and suspended seven days in late December for the infraction. Nunez has a mixed Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred stable that races at the Los Alamitos evening meeting. He has some runners on the Southern California daytime circuit. Nunez is the trainer of Toby Sis, winner of the $1.9 million Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity for Quarter Horses in December. :: Access the most trusted data and information in horse racing!
