Sensitivity has more speed than she showed last time
?q=100)
Sensitivity has done her best work on the front end and should revert back to those tactics for Sunday’s eighth race at Gulfstream Park.
“She’s going to be closer this time, absolutely,” trainer Jose D’Angelo said. “She didn’t have the best trip last time.”
Sensitivity found herself well off the pace July 23, when she was bumped out of the gate, then shuffled back to last. She ultimately ended up sixth behind a wire-to-wire winner, one start after finishing third when tracking the pace May 27. Both races were first-level allowances for fillies and mares routing on Tapeta, the same conditions as Sunday.
Sensitivity’s race, which will be run over a mile and 70 yards, is one of several high-end offerings on the card. It’s drawn nine horses, including the promising 3-year-old fillies Time Passage, who could set the pace while stretching out off a runner-up finish at 5 1/2 furlongs, and Starship Agenda, who closed for fourth in Sensitivity’s July 23 race.

Sensitivity won her debut on turf last year, wiring her rivals over 1 1/16 miles. In recent times, she’s been competing on Tapeta. On Sunday, she will be making her third start off a layoff – and third for D’Angelo.
“She’s a nice filly,” he said. “I think she’ll be better on the turf than Tapeta, but Tapeta’s what we have right now. She’s better for this race, now that she has two races under her belt. I think she’ll be competitive.”
Sensitivity is a 4-year-old daughter of Street Sense who races for Tami Bobo. Sensitivity’s winning dam, Froyo Star, is a half-sister to Sweet Reason, a multiple Grade 1 winner of $1.4 million.
Sonny Leon has the mount from post 7.
D’Angelo, who ranks second in the trainer standings at Gulfstream, will be active in both maiden special weight races for 2-year-olds on Sunday.
In the opener, he will saddle Bubbly Champagne, who goes 5 1/2 furlongs on Tapeta against 11 other 2-year-old fillies. Bubbly Champagne is a daughter of Bee Jersey and the mare Icy Tales.
“She’s working so good, every week she improves,” D’Angelo said. “She’s a full sister to Bedtime Story. She’s very similar to her sister. That’s why I think she has talent.”
Bedtime Story is 4 for 5, with all of her wins coming on the Tapeta at Gulfstream.
The probable favorite in the opener is Casually, the lone runner in the field with racing experience. She’s run second and third in her two starts.
The other 2-year-old race on the card also is for fillies, over 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track. Bigbouquetofroses should go favored against her fellow Florida-breds after finishing second by a neck in her debut, while D’Angelo will counter with Miss Sayely. She was fourth in her debut, in a maiden special weight over five furlongs June 23 at Gulfstream. D’Angelo said he likes the added ground for Miss Sayely on Sunday.

Other races of note on the card include the sixth, which is a first-level allowance for 3-year-olds and up bred in Florida. It will be run at a mile and 70 yards on Tapeta. The 3-year-old Dear Dad could go favored over his elders off a runner-up finish at this level and distance last out.
In the second race, Li Li Bear, who last out finished right behind eighth-race entrant Time Passage, starts as a chief contender in a $20,000 starter-allowance sprint for fillies and mares on Tapeta.
