Sensible Myth outduels Kelsey's Cross in Dayatthespa Stakes

Sensible Mth edged Kelsey’s Cross by a neck in the $60,000 Dayatthespa on Sunday at Gulfstream Park Sunday. It was another neck back to Great Sister Diane who finished third in the 1 1/16-mile race on turf for fillies and mares.
Sensible Myth paid $20.
Ridden by Edgar Prado, Sensible Myth broke sharply from post 2 and saved ground while stalking Lagertha and Kelsey’s Cross through six furlongs in 1:10.87. She moved to the three path to engage Kelsey’s Cross at the top of the stretch and prevailed in a stretch-long duel.
Kelsey’s Cross broke from the outside post in the eight-horse field and in order to avoid going wide was sent hard by Luca Panici to press the pace. He took over the lead on the stretch turn and after getting passed in midstretch fought back to just miss in a game effort. Great Sister Diane rallied late and despite the narrow loss never looked like getting to the top two.
The final time over turf rated firm was 1:41.72.
A Kentucky-bred daughter of Street Sense, Sensible Myth is trained by Leo Gabriel Jr. She races for Diamond Racing Inc.
The Dayatthespa was the fifth leg of the Rainbow 6, which had a mandatory payment. It paid $61,593.78.
