Send It In tries again in Excelsior

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Send It In, third as the favorite in the Stymie Stakes last month, will try again for his first open-company stakes victory on Saturday, when he faces eight rivals in the Grade 3, $150,000 Excelsior at 1 1/4 miles.
Prior to the Stymie, Send It In had won seven of his previous nine starts, including a pair of stakes restricted to New York-breds.
Hereditary, third to Stanford in the Challenger Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs last out, makes his graded-stakes debut in the Excelsior for trainer Shug McGaughey.
Others entered include Bellamy Way, Discreet Lover, Admiral Blue, Doyouknowsomething and Tu Brutus.
◗ In addition to its regular early and late pick-four wagers, the New York Racing Association on Saturday will offer a pick four exclusive to NYRA Bets members or in-state residents.
That pick four will be offered on races 6-9. Only New York residents, either ontrack or at an offtrack betting facility, as well as anyone who wagers through a NYRA Bets advance-deposit wagering account, is eligible to wager.
All for races in the sequence – which ends with the Grade 1 Carter – will be televised during a 2 1/2-hour broadcast, “Aqueduct Live,” that airs on Fox Sports 2.
