Seeking the Soul eyes Ack Ack

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Seeking the Soul, winner of the Grade 1 Clark Handicap here last fall, is one of 25 nominees to the Lukas Classic here Sept. 29, but trainer Dallas Stewart may opt instead to run him at a one-turn mile in the Grade 3, $100,000 Ack Ack, one of three other stakes on the card.
Seeking the Soul faded to finish 13th as the second wagering choice in his last start, the Sept. 1 Woodward at Saratoga. In his four prior starts, the Charles Fipke homebred had earned triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures.
Limousine Liberal, winner of the Grade 3 Belmont Sprint in July, is one of 23 nominees to the Ack Ack, but trainer Ben Colebrook said the Oct. 5 Phoenix at Keeneland is the more likely spot.
The other two stakes on the Sept. 29 night card are the $100,000 Jefferson Cup for 3-year-old turf horses and a Grade 1 race for Arabians, the President of the United Arab Emirates Cup.
