OZONE PARK, N.Y. – The Grade 1 winner Search Results will make her 4-year-old debut in Saturday’s Grade 3, $150,000 Distaff Handicap at seven furlongs here.

Search Results won the Grade 1 Acorn in June but has raced only once since, finishing third in the Grade 1 Test on Aug. 7 at Saratoga.

Trainer Chad Brown said the filly needed a break after that and was given ample time off. Brown said he was between the Distaff and the Grade 1 Madison at Keeneland for Search Result’s return race, but opted for what he feels should be the easier of the two races.

Last winter and spring, Search Results won the Busher Invitational and Grade 3 Gazelle at Aqueduct before running second to Malathaat in the Kentucky Oaks.

Search Results will face the streaking pair of Glass Ceiling and Kept Waiting, who both have won three straight. Glass Ceiling won the Grade 3 Barbara Fritchie on Feb. 19, while Kept Waiting won the Broadway on Feb. 13.

Easy to Bless, Zaajel, and Dealing Justice also are in the Distaff field.

In other Saturday stakes:

◗ Wit, the Grade 3 Sanford winner at Saratoga last summer, makes his 3-year-old debut in the Grade 3, $150,000 Bay Shore Stakes for 3-year-old sprinters. Wit hasn’t run since a third-place finish in the Grade 1 Champagne.

Wit is trained by Todd Pletcher, who also will send out Gotham runner-up Dean’s List in this seven-furlong race. Doctor Jeff, Fromanothamutha, Highly Respected, Life Is Great, Outkissed, Runninsonofagun, and Scaramouche complete the field.

◗ The eight-time stakes winner Therapist makes his 7-year-old debut in the $100,000 Danger’s Hour Stakes going a mile on turf. Among his stakes victories was the Artie Schiller Stakes here in November 2020. Therapist is trained by Christophe Clement, who also sends out City Man. Other contenders in the nine-horse field include Value Proposition and Rinaldi.
