Seabreeze Blvd. best in Inaugural Stakes

Seabreeze Blvd. successfully made the transition from recent maiden winner to stakes graduate Saturday night at Evangeline Downs as he kicked well clear to win $75,000 Inaugural Stakes. Pacesetter and 6-5 favorite Chief What It Is proved no match for the winner in the drive and finished second followed by L. S. Fast Jack, Direct Splash, Premier Dance and Catonight.

Trained by Bubba Cascio for Keith McKinney and Larry Lee, Seabreeze Blvd. ($14.60) was ridden by Jose Riquelme who was also aboard the son of Mt. Livermore for an impressive maiden score here on February 24. The winning margin was four lengths and the final time was 1:11.48 for the six furlongs over a fast track.
