SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Scottish Lassie, the 15 1/2-length winner of the Grade 1 Coaching Club American Oaks, worked six furlongs in 1:13.86 Monday morning over the Oklahoma training track in preparation for a start in the Grade 1, $1 million Cotillion Stakes on Sept. 20 at Parx.

Following two lengths behind a stablemate, Scottish Lassie, ridden by Joel Rosario, tracked that one until upper stretch, when she blew past that horse and finished 10 lengths in front while getting her final quarter in 23.20 seconds. She continued out six furlongs in 1:13.86 and seven furlongs in 1:26.97.

“She breezed really well,” trainer Jorge Abreu said. “I’ve been taking it easy with her, but I told Rosario I wanted to do a little bit more and she really went well. The timing is just right. She’s coming around at the right time. She’s showing me the same things she was showing me before the Coaching Club.”

Meanwhile, Abreu said that Jody’s Pride, who was beaten 1 1/4 lengths when third in the Ladies Turf Sprint at Kentucky Downs on Saturday, will be pointed to the Breeders’ Cup Mile against males on Nov. 1 at Del Mar. Abreu said he would next look to run Jody’s Pride in the Grade 1 First Lady at Keeneland on Oct. 4.

◗ Ewing, the one-length winner of the Grade 2 Saratoga Special on Aug. 2, worked five furlongs in 1:00.80 over Saratoga’s main track. He will make his next start in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Futurity at Keeneland on Oct. 4.
