Scioto: Track records for Beaver trainees in Ohio State Fair Trots

Trainer Chris Beaver won four of the seven Ohio State Fair Trots for 2-year-olds on Thursday night at Scioto Downs, with colt Caviar Gold and gelding Gabbys Bit Coin setting track records.
Racing in the first $48,000 division, Caviar Gold (Aaron Merriman) clicked off fractions of 28, 57 4/5, and 1:27, then dug in through the lane to fend off pocket-sitter Creatine Star (Brett Miller) by a nose in 1:55 2/5. Rose Run Xtra (Chris Page) was third.
Beaver also bred and co-owns Caviar Gold, a Triumphant Caviar-Gee O'Keeffe colt, with partners Bill Manes, Leo Fleming, and Steven Zeehandelar. Caviar Gold has won all three of his starts, earned $64,000, and paid $3.80 to win.
In the final $48,000 tilt for the colts and geldings, Gabbys Bit Coin (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) sat third through opening-half fractions of 27 4/5 and 57, then surged first-over into the lead beyond the 1:25 4/5 three-quarters. It was all Gabbys Bit Coin after that, as he opened up to win by three lengths in 1:54 4/5, topping Up Blueberry Hill (Page) and Chulo (Miller).
An Uncle Peter-Gabbysloosechange gelding, Gabbys Bit Coin is a homebred for Chris and his mother Johanna Beaver. Gabbys Bit Coin is also three-for-three with $64,000 in the bank. He returned $7.80 to win.
