Scioto: Seaside Diva leads Burke-trained exacta in Nadia Lobell
?q=100)
Seaside Diva topped a one-two finish for trainer Ron Burke in Saturday night's $100,000 Nadia Lobell for 3-year-old filly pacers at Eldorado Scioto Downs.
Rose Run Zoey (Tyler Smith), who lowered the track record to 1:49 4/5 in an Ohio Sires Stakes division on June 22, put up fractions of 26 1/5, 55 and 1:23 1/5 in the Nadia Lobell, but Seaside Diva (Chris Page), who was moving first-up from third at three-quarters, was able to get past Rose Run Zoey late on the last turn.
After clearing Rose Run Zoey, Page guided Seaside Diva back to the pylons and then was able to hold sway over stablemate Pass Line, who had tipped out of the pocket behind Seaside Diva, by a quarter of a length in a 1:50 4/5 performance. Lyons Legend (Aaron Merriman) checked in third and Lou Lou, the last of a three-horse Burke entry that was favored at 3-5, checked in fourth.
