The Ohio State Fair Stakes for this year wrapped up on Saturday night at Eldorado Scioto Downs.
Driver Chris Page and trainer Ron Burke had another hat trick together, including a 1:53 4/5 tally in the richest event on the program, the $142,000 Governor's Cup Trot for 3-year-old colts and geldings, with Tennesse Tom. That Long Tom gelding, bred by Albert Miller and owned by Burke Racing Stable LLC., Weaver Bruscemi LLC., Hatfield Stables and Knox Services Inc., took the lead before the half and went on to score by a length and a quarter whie paying $2.20 to win. This was Tennesse Tom's tenth career win and he has now earned $667,620.
Page and Burke also bagged a non-wagering $55,335 Ohio State Trot for 2-year-old fillies with Mocha Hill (by What The Hill and bred by Franklin Equine LLC.) in 1:55 1/5 for owners Burke Racing Stable LLC., Hatfield Stables, Weaver Bruscemi LLC. and Knox Services Inc., and a $72,000 Ohio First Lady Pace for sophomore fillies with Seaside Diva (by Downbytheseaside and bred by owners Burke Racing Stable LLC., Weaver Bruscemi LLC., Knox Services Inc. and Let It Ride Stables Inc., paid $2.10 to win) in 1:50 4/5. Mocha Hill is now four-for-four in her career, while Seaside Diva has been victorious eight times in nine outings in 2024.

Ronnie Wrenn Jr. had a driving double as he captured a $79,500 State Fair Managers Pace for 2-year-old fillies with Queen Of Fear (by Fear The Dragon and bred by co-owner/trainer Ed Miller and co-owner Ashley Dunn) in 1:52 3/5, and a $55,335 Ohio State Trot for rookie fillies with Up (by Uncle Peter and bred by Jonas Schlabach) in 1:57 3/5 for trainer Matthew Burkholder and owner Dark Horse Farm LLC.
The first $77,700 Director of Agriculture Pace for 3-year-old colts and geldings went to Racing Rebel (by Racing Hill and bred by owner Marjorie Polhamus, paid $8.20 to win) in 1:50 2/5 for driver Austin Hanners and trainer Dan O'Mara, while Paris's Dragon (by Fear The Dragon, bred by co-owner Dennis Owens, returned $9.60 to win) took the second $77,000 flight in 1:49 2/5 for driver Dan Noble and trainer Christi Noble.
Last, but certainly not least, Wasted On You (by Downbytheseaside, bred by Trent Stohler Stable Inc., Benjamin Graber, co-owner Tim Graber and Dolne Farm Services LLC., paid $2.10 to win) won her $72,700 Ohio First Lady Pace for 3-year-old fillies in 1:50 3/5 for driver Brett Miller, trainer Virgil Morgan Jr. and co-owner Odds On Racing.
