Scioto: Noble hits a grand slam in Ohio State Fair contests

Dan Noble drove four winners, including three of his own trainees, as the boys took their turn in Ohio State Fair races on Saturday night at Eldorado Scioto Downs.
Noble struck first in a $72,800 split for 3-year-old pacers, taking Yankee Boots right down the road for a 1:51 1/5 win. Yankee Boots, a gelding by Yankee Cruiser, is trained by Steve Carter, who also co-owns with breeders Peggy Carter, Chuck Grubbs, and Joseph Whitacre.
Native's Sweetlou then gave Noble the double in another 3-year-old pace, worth $73,500. Starting from a trailing post ten, Native's Sweetlou improved position at every call, surged into the lead in the lane, and pulled away to win by 2 1/4 lengths in 1:50 3/5. Noble also trains the Allamerican Native gelding for owner Chuck Grubbs.
Ocean Rock provided Noble with the Ohio State Fair hat trick in the tenth race, a $53,000 section for 2-year-old pacers, rallying for a 1:53 2/5 win. Another Noble trainee, Ocean Rock is a Rockin Amadeus-Ocean Pearl gelding owned and bred by Sandra Burnett.
Morally Flexible gave Noble his last Ohio State Fair win (he also had a victory in an overnight race, giving him five total), claiming a $52,000 3-year-old trot by three lengths in 1:56 1/5. Noble also handles the training of the Break The Bank K gelding for owners Bruce Soulsby and Dalton Walls.
Driver Chris Page and trainer Ron Burke also picked up a pair of Ohio State Fair scores, with Elver Hanover setting a track record for a 2-year-old gelding pacer of 1:52 1/5 in winning a $53,000 dash for that group. Elver Hanover, a Yankee Cruiser-Edra Hanover half-brother to Eddard Hanover, is owned by Burke Racing Stable LLC., Bridgette Jablonsky, Jason Melillo, and J&T Silva- Purnel & Libby.
Page and Burke also annexed a $52,000 3-year-old trot with Wittyville in 1:55 4/5. The Manofmanymissions colt is owned by Burke Racing Stable LLC., Knox Services Inc., and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.
The remaining flight for 2-year-old pacers, which went for a purse of $52,300, was won by the Big Bad John-Perfect Gesture gelding Can B Perfect in 1:53 2/5 for driver Tyler Smith, co-owner/trainer Timothy Lane, and co-owner/breeder James Stambaugh, and Lane Of Stone took the last $52,000 contest for 3-year-old trotters, prevailing in 1:55 1/5 for driver Jeff Nisonger, trainer Mark Winters Sr., and owner/breeder Harry Horowitz.
