Scioto: Highest handle in track history recorded on Thursday

Eldorado Scioto Downs, which opened in 1959, set a new record for single-night handle on Thursday, May 28 when bettors wagered $1,637,714 on the 14-race card. The previous record was $1,231,444, set on September 7, 1996.

Handle was steady throughout the card, ranging from a low of $60,898 in race 11 to a high of $166,336 in race one. All wagering was done remotely since fans were not permitted due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Racing resumes at Scioto on Friday with post time set for 6:30 PM.
