Scioto: Guinevere Hall claims another track record

Guinevere Hall kept her unblemished 2020 record intact and scored a new Scioto Downs track record of 1:53 in the first of two $50,000 Ohio Sires Stakes for 3-year-old trotting fillies on Friday night, Aug. 14.
The daughter of Cash Hall was driven by Peter Wrenn for trainer Melanie Wrenn and is owned by the MT Pockets Stables and David McDuffee. This bay filly has scored triumphs in all four OSS legs. Bred by Alan Leavitt, Guinevere Hall is the seventh foal out of the unraced Lindy Lane mare Garbo Hall. Her career earnings now stand at $255,081 from eight wins in 15 career starts, with five of those triumphs coming in 2020.
Guinevere Hall left the gate at odds of 1-2 from post six and bested 5-2 rival Kikimora (Mike Wilder) by a nose, with 5-1 Lights Down Low (Tyler Smith) notching show honors.
A Fancy Face proved uber-fancy as she trotted to a 1:53 4/5 victory in the second OSS contest. Driven by Chris Page for trainer Ron Burke, the daughter of My MVP left the gate as the 1-9 choice, besting 15-1 Lima Gold (Dan Noble) and the hard-trying 5-1 Globetrotting (Anthony MacDonald).
Owned by Burke Racing Stable, Hatfield Stables, J&T Silva-Purnel & Libby, and Weaver Bruscemi, A Fancy Face pushed her lifetime earnings to $100,825 with this win, the fourth of her career in seven starts. Bred by Spring Haven Farm, A Fancy Face is the first foal out of the unraced Muscle Massive mare Alliomi, and is a half-sister to the Ohio Sires Stakes winning 2-year-old filly A Doll Face (by Dontyouforgetit, $33,704).
