Scioto: Driver Brett Miller registers 11,000th lifetime victory

A recent spate of major milestones continued on Friday at Eldorado Scioto Downs when Brett Miller became just the 15th driver to record 11,000 victories in North America.
Win #11,000 came in the fourth race on the program when Miller steered 4-year-old Enterprise gelding Vekna to a 1:52 tally for trainer Kayne Kauffman and owner Natalie Kauffman.
In addition to being 15th on the all-time win list, Miller is also in the top 20 for earnings with his horses having banked over $128.8 million.
Also on Friday at Scioto, Skywalker Sea popped the pocket and paced home in 27 3/5 to win an overnight race in a world record 1:47 3/5. The 4-year-old mare eclipsed the 1:48 mark set by Somwherovrarainbow in 2014. Todd Luther trains the homebred daughter of Downbytheseaside for his brother Greg and Austin Hanners was in the bike.

The track record for an older trotting horse was also lowered when No Nap Nash won the second race in 1:51 2/5. The 5-year- old by Creatine is trained by Miles Wollam and Tyler Smith was in the bike for owners Bob Troyer and Marty Wollam.
