Trainer Brian Brown proved difficult to beat on Friday night in Ohio Sires Stakes contests for 2-year-old pacers at Scioto Downs, winning four out of the five splits, including a sweep of the trifecta in one of the events.

The Brown trifecta came in the second $40,000 section for colts, with High On Paydaze (Chris Page) winning on the lead in 1:54 1/5 and besting stable-mates Rock Candy (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) and Tony Too Tall (Ryan Stahl).

High On Paydaze is a Nob Hill High colt trained by Brown for co-owner/breeder Scott Hagemeyer and co-owners Robert Mondillo and Donald Robinson. High On Paydaze is now four-for-four in Ohio Sires Stakes competition, and he has earned $78,400. High On Paydaze is out of Myell (1:56 1/5, $34,688), by The Panderosa, making High On Paydaze a half-brother to Myells Rockstar (World Of Rocknroll, 1:52 1/5, $129,326). High On Paydaze went off as the 2-1 second choice and paid $6.40 to win.

Page and Brown also joined forces back in the first $40,000 grouping for colts, scoring with Dislocator in 1:53 3/5. Dislocator moved from fourth to first heading to the 55 3/5 half and held sway from there, defeating fellow Brown trainee Smackitwithahammer (Stahl) by half a length. Easeondowntheroad (Dan Noble) finished third from the pocket.

A Big Bad John colt, Dislocator is owned by Joelyn Ridder, Scott Davis, Sharron Sopronyi, and Vip Internet Stable LLC. Dislocator broke his maiden in his fourth try, and he has now pocketed $36,640. Bred by Midland Acres Inc., Dislocator sold for $30,000 at the Ohio Select Sale and is the first foal out of the Art Major mare Eagle Yankee (1:54 3/5, $93,218). A 5-1 shot, Dislocator returned $13.00 to win.

Brown sent out the winners in both $50,000 filly flights, and both were driven by Wrenn Jr. Final Offer was their first victor, converting a first-over trip into a 1:55 2/5 score over stable-mate Carmen Ohio (Stahl), and then High Reward completed the double with a 1:53 1/5 tally on the front-end.

By Rockin Amadeus, Final Offer is owned by Country Club Acres Inc., Aws Stables, and Joe Sbrocco. This was her initial career triumph, and she now shows $36,300 in earnings. Final Offer, who was bred by Michael Dixon, Harold Bauder, and Harold L. Bauder, fetched $47,000 at the Ohio Select Sale and is out of the Yankee Cruiser mare Sectionline Yankee (1:50 2/5, $350,075). Sectionline Yankee is a half-sister to five six-figure earners. Final Offer was the favorite and paid $5.80 to win.

High Reward, by Yankee Cruiser, is owned by Country Club Acres Inc., Sbrocco, and L And H Management Service. She sports a record of 1-2-0 from four trips behind the gate, and she has put away $55,075. High Reward was bred by Steve Jones, brought $42,000 at the Ohio Select Sale, and is out of the Western Ideal mare Enhance The Night (1:50 4/5, $561,117). This makes High Reward a half-sister to two six-figure performers in Enhance Your Mind and Terror At Night. A 7-1 offering, High Reward returned $16.00 to win.

The only horse and connections able to break the Brown stranglehold on the night were Doo Wop West, driver Aaron Merriman, and trainer Dirk Simpson, as the son of Western Vintage came from off-the-pace in the lane for a 1:53 2/5 tally in the final $40,000 flight for colts.

Lawrence Crawford owns Doo Wop West, who has a pair of wins from three tries and $23,400 in the bank. Doo Wop West, bred by White Birch Farm, was a $15,000 acquisition at the Buckeye Yearling Sale and is out of the Life Sign mare Allamerican Raquel (1:51 4/5, $149,440), which makes Doo Wop West a three-quarter brother to Honky Tonk Woman (Western Ideal, 1:50 2/5, $560,138). Doo Wop West was dispatched at 6-1 and paid $14.60 to win.
