Scioto: Criquette Hall takes Ohio Sires Stakes trot

Criquette Hall, making her Ohio Sires Stakes debut, delivered as the 1-9 favorite in Friday afternoon's single $75,000 event for sophomore trotting fillies at Eldorado Scioto Downs.
Driven by Chris Page, Criquette Hall stepped to the lead and hit the opening quarter in 28 2/5, but she allowed a two-wide, 90-1 Sandis Commando L (Herb Le Van) to take over command heading to the 56 second half-mile split.
As the field raced in the backstretch for the final time, Page angled Criquette Hall to the outside, and she took the top spot back from Sandis Commando L prior to the 1:25 three-quarters. Criquette Hall didn't face another challenge from there as she drew off in a 29 3/5 last quarter, defeating Favorite Aunt (Brett Miller) by 2 3/4 lengths in 1:54 3/5. Abbey D (Dan Noble) finished third.
