A 1:53 2/5 victory with Flyin Bullets in the first of two $55,000 Ohio Sires Stakes tilts for 2-year-old pacing fillies on Friday at Eldorado Scioto Downs gave Brett Miller the 10,000th win of his driving career. He's the 22nd driver based in North America to hit that mark.
Flyin Bullets took the lead past the 27 3/5 opening quarter and went on to tally by a length and a half for trainer Clair Umholtz. Bred by Dave Yoder, the daughter of Downbytheseaside is owned by Umholtz & Kennedy Racing and tallied for the third time from six outings.
Miller was the second driver to hit a five-figure lifetime victory total just this week as Andy Miller accomplished the feat on Sunday at The Red Mile.
Jet Hill (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) was the other star of the show on Friday as he won his $55,000 Ohio Sires Stakes clash in 1:51 4/5, a track record for a sophomore gelding trotter. The son of What The Hill, bred by Martz Creek Farm, is trained by Ed Miller for Serenity Racing Stables and made his ninth appearance in the winner's circle.
