Scioto: $13,028 carryover in Friday Pick 5
Eldorado Scioto Downs will have a $40,000 guaranteed $.50 Pick 5 for Friday (May 27) in partnership with the USTA Strategic Wagering program. The Player's Pick 5 has a $13,028 double carryover and the track's lowest takeout at 14% on new money. The wager starts in race 5.
There is also the popular $1 Pick 8, which debuted on opening day and has carried a $25,000 guarantee backed by the Ohio Harness Horsemen's Association and Scioto Downs. The wager was hit on day one but when there is no 8/8 winning ticket, there is a 50% consolation payout for the best ticket on the money wagered that day. The other 50% carries over to the next racing card. The wager, starting in race 2, has a $20,615 carryover going into the Friday card.
Free Harness Eye PPs for the Pick 5 sequence can be found here.
The closing leg of both the Pick 5 and the Pick 8 is the $30,000 final of the Falcon Almahurst series for 3-year-old pacing fillies who are eligible to the Buckeye Stallion Series but did not race in the first leg of the Ohio Sires Stakes. Series standings leader and 9/5 morning line favorite is Fantasy Life (Chris Page/Ron Burke). The daughter of Downbytheseaside was second in the first leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series and now has back-to-back wins in the series, the most recent being in 1:53 1/5.
Post time for each live racing day is 3:15 p.m. and the 2022 season continues each Tuesday through Saturday until September 17. There will be a special Memorial Day card on Monday, May 30.
