Sayler has the numbers

WINNIPEG, Manitoba - Trainer Ardell Sayler sends out four of the seven 2-year-old fillies in the $40,000 Debutante Stakes at 5 1/2 furlongs Sunday at Assiniboia Downs. Sayler has two of the three winners in the field, Lyric Lake and Hey Hey Renee.

Lyric Lake posted a Beyer Speed Figure of 54 when she won at first asking over 4 1/2 furlongs here July 1. Hey Hey Renee, who also won at first asking over the same distance on July 5, posted a Beyer Speed Figure of 44.

By Anziyan, Hey Hey Renee is out of the mare who produced Ride on Ice, who was stakes-placed twice as a 2-year-old at Hastings before winning stakes there in her 3- and 4-year-old years.

Sayler also sends out Best Think Twice and Say Maybe Baby. Best Think Twice finished second in her only race, 7 1/4 lengths behind Hey Hey Renee. Out of the mare Incindress, who won two stakes in California as a 2-year-old and was placed in a Grade 1 race at 3, Best Think Twice is a half-sister to two-time stakes winner Indy Fire.

Say Maybe Baby finished fourth, 8 1/4 lengths behind Lyric Lake, in her only start.

Little Fawn, the other winner in the field, won an about-three-furlong race in her only start on June 19 and will race around a turn for the first time Sunday.
