ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Sav will look to record her first stakes win when she stretches out around two turns for the first time in Sunday’s $100,000 La Prevoyante Stakes for Ontario-sired 3-year-old fillies at Woodbine. Sav comes into the 1 1/16-mile La Prevoyante on the strength of a 6 1/2-length victory in a 6 1/2-furlong sprint on Oct. 14, earning a career-best 84 Beyer Speed Figure for trainer Ricky Griffith and owner Steve Duffield. She’s come close to recording her first stakes win on several occasions, with runner-up finishes in the My Dear Stakes as a 2-year-old last season, and in the Lady Angela Stakes and Passing Mood Stakes this season. The daughter of Big Screen should be able to handle the stretch-out. Her sire won a stakes over a mile and was graded-stakes placed at the same distance, while Sav’s dam, Executive Affair, has produced Bunty Lawless Stakes winner, Cooler Mike, and other route winners, including Rackman and Cash for Life.
