Saturday stakes recaps (9/4/04)

* Emerald Earrings ($20.60) tracked front-running Jinny's Gold and blew by her in the stretch to win her first stakes in the $143,250 Ontario Colleen Stakes at Woodbine.

* The 3-year-old filly Outright Buck ($7.40), second against older mares in the Sangue Handicap last out, returned to her own age group in the $50,000 Lyrique Handicap at Louisiana Downs and scored her second career stakes win.

* Anna Em ($2.80) rallied to catch pacesetter The Great Tyler for a head win in the $40,000 Ohio Debutante Stakes at Thistledown.

* Ribbon Cane ($4.40) led wire to wire to win the $50,000 Alma North Stakes at Timonium for the second year in a row.

* Due to Win ($8.20) took advantage of a quick pace set by favorite Southern Surprise and rallied strongly down the stretch to capture the $50,000 Matron Handicap at Evangeline Downs by 1 1/2 lengths.
