Saturday stakes recaps (9/27/03)

* Private Lap ($3.80), one of only four horses left after the $194,000 Caesar Rodney Handicap was shifted from the turf to a sloppy main track, cruised to a 2 3/4-length victory.

* Feisty Bull ($9) shot to the lead under Carlos Lopez and never looked back, winning the $50,000 Navajo Princess for 3-year-old fillies at Monmouth Park by 3 1/4 lengths.

* George Taylor ($47.80), who had recently racing on turf in starter allowances, pulled the biggest upset of the Oklahoma Classics Day program at Remington Park when he rallied on dirt for a three-quarter length win over Expensive Risk in the $75,000 Classic, the richest of seven statebred stakes on the card.

* Willow Bunch ($5.10) won for the third straight time since switching from turf to dirt in the $162,375 La Lorgnette Stakes, a 1 1/16-mile race for 3-year-old fillies at Woodbine.
