Saturday stakes recaps (11/6/04)

* Leaving on My Mind ($3.40) ran to his short price in the $100,000 Jean Lafitte Stakes at Delta Downs, drawing clear to win by five lengths. Longshot Rubialedo rallied to finish second, followed by My Parade, who also turned in a bit of late run.

* At Hoosier Park, Francine Villeneuve and Jill Jellison shared the title in the fourth annual Female Jockey Challenge, and Free Bonus ($2.40) remained undefeated in her third career start after scoring a 3 1/2-length win in the $40,000 Miss Indiana Stakes for 2-year-old Indiana-bred fillies.

* Unforgettable Max exerted his class in the $54,500 Shecky Greene Stakes at Delaware Park, leading all the way for a three-length victory over Hydrogen.

* Winter Garden ($3.80) came along the rail from a stalking position and then assumed command under jockey David Clark to win the $137,750 Ontario Fashion Handicap, her third stakes of the Woodbine meeting. Clark also won the $112,000 River Memories Stakes aboard My Pal Lana ($23.70).
