Saturday stakes recaps (1/11/03)

* Honest Deceiver ($8.60) got up in the final yards by a half-length to win the $50,000 Wishing Well Stakes for older fillies and mares at Turfway Park.

* Ebony Breeze ($9.20), a 3-year-old homebred filly owned by George Steinbrenner's Kinsman Stable, romped to a 6 3/4-length victory in the $50,000 Sandpiper Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs. Her time of 1:11.42 for six furlongs tied the stakes record set last year by Rebecca's Charm.
