Saturday stakes recaps (10/18/03)

* At Louisiana Downs, Warleigh picked up his fifth win a row, controlling the issue from start to finish in the $40,000 Alliance Handicap. Skate Away reported home second followed by Dash for Daylight.

* Favored Political Attack and jockey Ramon Dominguez held off the late charge of 16-1 longshot Estio to win the $100,000 Sussex Handicap at Delaware.

* Gators N Bears did all the dirty work in the $50,000 Sonny Hine Stakes, and his reward was a victory in the six-furlong race for 3-year-olds at Laurel Park.

* Tusayan ($12.70) came charging down the center of the course in the stretch to capture the $144,750 Bunty Lawless Stakes for Ontario-sired runners at Woodbine.
