* Sea Span ($13.20) dueled with Mooji Moo through a blistering five furlongs in 57.40 seconds, then shook off that rival in the final furlong to pull away for a 3 3/4-length win in the $60,000 Minaret Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs.

* R. Baggio ($13), the beaten favorite in last month's Black Mountain Handicap, made amends when he rallied five wide under Hoogie Drexler to overtake 3-5 favorite Expresso Bay by three-quarters of a length in the $50,000 Paradise Mile Handicap at Turf Paradise.

* Wacky Patty ($5.60), despite turning back from one mile to five furlongs, took advantage of her rail post and showed speed throughout for a 3 1/2-length win over Clever Melody in the $40,000 Genesis for 3-year-old fillies at Delta Downs.
