Satellite Storm steps up to stakes in Mystic Lake Turf Sprint

Valorie Lund already trains the best dirt sprinter, Mr. Jagermeister, who is stabled at Canterbury Park, and perhaps she has the best turf sprinter there, too.
Lund claimed Satellite Storm for $15,000 in April at Turf Paradise and in June gave him a first look in turf races. That has worked out very, very well. Satellite Storm won his turf debut, a $15,000 sprint, by more than four lengths and came right back in a much tougher open allowance to score by a similar margin. Now, he looks very tough in the Mystic Lake Turf Sprint, one of three $50,000 turf stakes Saturday at Canterbury.

Satellite Storm has Angaston and Win Lion Win to beat in race 5, the last of the three stakes, which are run consecutively on a nine-race evening card.
Race 4 is the Brooks Fields over one mile, and Nobrag Justfact is a prime contender. Nobrag Justfact failed to stay 1 3/16 miles in the Grade 3 Arlington Handicap, won by the good colt Bandua. In his previous start, Nobrag Justfact captured the $100,000 Mystic Lake Mile over the Canterbury grass by 1 3/4 lengths. Giant Payday, Majestic Pride, and Eckersley provide the most capable competition.
The Minnesota HBPA Distaff over one mile for fillies and mares looks the murkiest of the three stakes. Chance to Shine was a good-looking winner Aug. 16 in her turf debut, beating nonwinners-of-three allowance foes, and she looks ready for this relatively mild step up in class.
