Sassy Little Lila back with girls in Noble Damsel

ELMONT, N.Y. – After an ambitious start against the boys didn’t pan out in the Grade 1 Fourstardave, Sassy Little Lila is back facing her own gender in Saturday’s Grade 3, $200,000 Noble Damsel at Belmont Park.
Sassy Little Lila, trained by Brad Cox, was one of five fillies and mares entered in the Noble Damsel, scheduled for one mile over the Widener turf course.

The last time Sassy Little Lila went a mile at Belmont, she nearly stole the Grade 1 Just a Game. She made all the pace before drifting out several paths in the stretch, where Dickinson was rallying to her outside. While Sassy Little Lila held off Dickinson for second, both were beaten by Antonoe.
In the Fourstardave, Sassy Little Lila set a pedestrian pace over a yielding turf course, but could not keep it going and was beaten 9 3/4 lengths by winner World Approval.
Others entered in the Noble Damsel are Celestine, Off Limits, Time and Motion, and Malibu Stacy.
