SPOT PLAYS AND LIVE LONGSHOTS

Saratoga Race 5, (3:03 ET)

NUBIN RIDGE (#1, 12-1) has a pair of turf sprints this past March at FG that were pretty good, the first one a popular score and the last one being an eventual key race; plenty of pace to set up his stretch run for barn that's due to put one over. - Chuck Kuehhas

Saratoga Race 5, (3:03 ET)

DOWNTOWNOSCARBROWN (#8, 8-1) A trio of local turf workouts, a suitable pedigree (three-quarter brother Plenty was a three-time allowance winner on grass), and Al Stall's 27% wins first-time turf all bode well for today's surface switch. - Dave Litfin

Saratoga Race 7, (4:05 ET)

MONGOL BOSS (#6, 5-1) With that big 89 Beyer earned by rival Kingston Bay in his career debut during the first week of the meet, surely he'll be overbet for McLaughlin, won't he? That could leave value aplenty on the others, including this guy, who was the beaten fave when a decent third in that same 7/22 race. Maker, like Kiaran, has waited until now to re-release; latest breeze serves to tighten; revert to that two-back Bel try, and a mild measure of revenge seems well within reach. - Marty McGee

Saratoga Race 7, (4:05 ET)

KINGSTON BAY (#4, 5-2) made promising debut when finishing ahead of several of today's rivals; figures better for the experience, and any improvement from that effort makes him tough to beat. - Mike Beer

Saratoga Race 9, (5:10 ET)

LADY'S LUNAR LUCK (#6, 6-1) is clearly in good form, and her steady Beyers make her a big threat as she returns to the statebred ranks; solid score in that last one vs. open company. - Kenny Peck

VULNERABLE FAVORITES

Saratoga Race 9, (5:10 ET)

ROSES FOR ROMNEY (#1, 8-5) Blew a clear lead in that last one despite mild fractions, and she could face pressure on the lead this time, from SIMPLISTIC. Her best figures fit but those were races where she was loose on the lead. - Kenny Peck
