SPOT PLAYS AND LIVE LONGSHOTS
ARTEMIS AGROTERA (#2, 8-5) has been well schooled for her debut, appears to have some talent, capable of scoring at first asking for barn with positive ROI with debut types. - Mike Welsch
FEVERED KISS (#6, 4-1) Third time should be a charm for FEVERED KISS who comes off a sharp five furlong work while returning to the main track after getting hung wide, fading late in turf debut. - Mike Welsch
SWEET POTATO (#3, 4-1) ran very well in her debut behind Jubliant Girl (who has since won twice more, including a stakes race at Santa Anita) and landed in a very live race when sent East; switch out of Pletcher's barn won't hurt her price. - Mike Beer
Saratoga Race 6, (3:41 ET) - LIVE LONGSHOT
PRAETEREO (#1, 8-1) With Souper Speedy likely to take tons of action in this high-end alw./optional race while exiting the Jaipur and Marvin, there's potential value to be had with the rest, and in particular with this rail-drawn 5-year-old. First off the claim for Jacobson is always a powerful angle, and with this gray dude coming off a Bel victory, he was already hinting of peak form. It'll be up to Cornelio to work out a trip from the rail. – Marty McGee
Saratoga Race 10, (5:52 ET) - LIVE LONGSHOT
JAGATI (#9, 8-1) lone turf effort, as a first timer, was compromised by slow start, which hasn't occurred since; likely tries wiring this group. Profitable JT combo adds to appeal. - Chuck Kuehhas
VULNERABLE FAVORITES
Gentle Jim (#1, 2-1) Admittedly, there's not much to beat in this field and his last race makes him tough, but this doesn't feel like the kind of race to take 2-1 on anybody, and would certainly take a shot against this one of around that price. - Mike Beer
