SPOT PLAYS AND LIVE LONGSHOTS

Saratoga Race 3, (2:00 ET)

PURE SENSATION (#3, 5-2) Extended Saratoga Special winner Corfu before finishing second while getting hung wide throughout in his debut, ready to graduate at second asking. - Mike Welsch

Saratoga Race 5, (3:03 ET)

REQUEST A PUCK (#7, 8-1) The "drop and stretch" angle is in play for this 3-year-old, who was off slow from the rail in a turf sprint first out in New York, and is now lowered from the starter/optional ranks to a "beaten" claimer at 1 1/16 miles. - Dave Litfin

Saratoga Race 6, (3:35 ET)

WHERE'S DOMINIC (#7, 10/1) may need someone to go with likely fav Much Stronger early as that one steps up in class with the best figures, but he began his career as an effective sprinter before being given several chances to stretch out in stakes company, and he may be sitting on an improved effort here as he combines the turn back with the class drop. - Mike Beer

Saratoga Race 7, (4:07 ET) - LIVE LONGSHOT

HOT SQUEEZE (#8, 10-1) has been breezing steadily at Saratoga since June in preparation for her debut, and though her trainer, George Weaver, has poor stats with first timers, this one's works suggest promise. Additionally, offspring of Latent Heat tend to like the grass; also sold well at auction for progeny of her sire. - Byron King

Saratoga Race 9, (5:12 ET) - LIVE LONGSHOT

SLUMBER (#3, 4-1) Has trained extremely well for the past several weeks in preparation for U.S. bow. Should offer some value if this one stays on the turf. - Mike Welsch

Saratoga Race 10, (5:45 ET)

BEER GARDEN (#9, 6-1) Two-back win in his grass debut seems far more indicative of the talent of this grass-bred colt than the AP debacle, in which he gave way readily when overmatched by the likes of some real turf grizzlies like Rahystrada and Dullahan; also worth noting Leparoux may've wrapped up late to protect him. Shorter distance and different configuration could make this guy a much bigger threat once he sails away from this outer post. – Marty McGee

Saratoga Race 10, (5:45 ET) - LIVE LONGSHOT

RAZORBILL (#3, 10-1) Euro import makes first U.S. start for Shirreffs after racing for Juddmonte in England last year; adds Lasix and gets Rosario at double digit odds off the 11 month layoff. - Chuck Kuehhas

VULNERABLE FAVORITES

Saratoga Race 7, (4:07 ET)

FLYING K C (#2, 5-2) has trained swiftly on the grass since a distant fourth in her debut, but her barn's recent stats with second-time starters and first-time-on-grass runners are uninspiring. - Byron King
